What is a School Council?

All government schools in Victoria have a school council.  The school council is the group of people who are given the power to set the key directions for the school. This means that school council can directly influence the quality of education that a school provides to its students.  School council also makes sure that the school is running effectively in terms of how it spends its money and the guidelines it makes for how the school is to work.

Parents and Friends Association

Rolling Hills Primary School has a Parents & Friends Association.  We exist to encourage and build relationships between parents, families and the school community. We support the staff and school by providing practical assistance & rewards for activities and assist the whole school by fundraising.  The children love it when their families are involved!

Meetings are held monthly in the staffroom and everyone is welcome.  Morning tea/dessert is served, along with meaningful discussion and friendship making/building.  If you are looking for ways to volunteer at the school, why not come along to the meeting and see first hand what sort of things we do.  Younger siblings are welcome to come along too!

If you have any questions about joining P&F, please feel free to email Mel on melwoolhouse@msn.com or contact the office on 9726 4454.  Meeting dates for the remainder of the year are as follows: 6th June, 25th July, 22nd August, 10th October, 14th November.

Aims and Objectives:

  • To promote the sense of community between students, staff, parents and the wider community in general.

 Term 4 2017

Working Bees are arranged each Term by the School Council with the object of maintaining and improving our grounds and buildings. Without parent support at these Working Bees, the school would quickly become uninviting and our pride in our school would suffer. We would greatly appreciate your time and tools and look forward to enjoying these community events throughout the year.
